his marvelous deeds among all peoples.
4 For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise;
he is to be feared above all gods.
5 For all the gods of the nations are idols,
but the Lord made the heavens.
6 Splendor and majesty are before him;
strength and glory are in his sanctuary.
7 Ascribe to the Lord, all you families of nations,
ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
8 Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name;
bring an offering and come into his courts.

tremble before him, all the earth.
Reflect
This is a fairly common Psalm. It talks about singing a new song. To sing a new song takes some work and concentration at first. Soon though the song is etched into your brain. You find yourself singing it without even thinking. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to be singing to the Lord without even thinking? We could be praising his name and telling of his salvation among all other people and all creation. We could be praising the Lord and giving him all the glory due to his name. Along with all of creation we could be trembling with excitement due to his holiness.
For me, I most often become aware of God’s holiness when I am in creation. The splendor of nature makes me tremble with excitement due to God’s creative hand. I am awestruck, when I see the majestic beauty of mountains. I tremble upon hearing the power of a thunderous waterfall. The smell of the salty ocean puts me in the state of worship. Touching the soft green moss makes me aware the Lord is worthy of praise. Sucking the sweet nectar from new blooming honeysuckle makes we want to bring an offering and come into his courts.
Pray
Dear God, You are so awesome. The mountains showcase Your majesty. We sing praise to You. We marvel at the wonders of the ocean. We sing a new song to you. Amen.
