2 Corinthians 6:13 KJV
Now for a recompence in the same, (I speak as unto my children), be ye also enlarged.

An enlarged heart, though posing serious concern to a medical doctor, isn’t necessarily described as a disease. Initial reasons are usually investigated through external queries such as a reaction to medicine, diet, or perhaps recent stressful situations. It’s only after these have been ruled out that other more internal factors are taken into consideration.
Though an enlarged heart isn’t anything we would want, it has spiritual benefits related to prayer. Paul wanted people in Corinth to have their hearts ‘enlarged’ (2 Corinthians 6:11-13 KJV). He knew that if they knew what was happening in his ministry, these folks might pray more deeply and intelligently for God’s work to be accomplished. Paul didn’t want them to then walk away and forget what they had just prayed about. After talking about his ministry experiences in 2 Corinthians 6:1-10 KJV, Paul then shares how being able to mutually speak and pray about his experiences may enlarge their hearts also. That was Paul’s ultimate desire.
Augustine, an early church father said, “God asks us to pray, not to know what we want, but to exercise and enlarge our desires. His gifts are great, but until our desires are enlarged our capacity is small.” Commit yourself to cutting out a little larger slice of prayer time while we’re confined to home during these days of the coronavirus outbreak. The benefits of an increasingly enlarged heart as a result of prayer for family, friends, your church and other ministries may have a way of enlarging the kingdom of God in ways you never dreamed of!
Pray
God, enlarge our hearts toward the thing you desire. Help us to want more of your ways in our lives. Amen
Go with God!
