Exodus 4: 27-31
The Lord said to Aaron, “Go into the wilderness to meet Moses.” So he met Moses at the mountain of God and kissed him. Then Moses told Aaron everything the Lord had sent him to say, and also about all the signs he had commanded him to perform.
Moses and Aaron brought together all the elders of the Israelites, and Aaron told them everything the Lord had said to Moses. He also performed the signs before the people, and they believed. And when they heard that the Lord was concerned about them and had seen their misery, they bowed down and worshiped.
Reflect
A very familiar word used in the scriptures is the word “Go.” In our scripture reading God said to Aaron, “Go into the wilderness to meet Moses.” Aaron responded and did what God asked him to do. After their meeting in the wilderness, Aaron and Moses went to God’s people and performed the signs that God had revealed to Moses. As a result, the people of God believed.
How many times in the scriptures has God asked someone to “Go” and share with others what God has shared with them. I can think of many other examples where God said “Go” but the one that comes to my mind the quickest is at the end of Matthew’s gospel. This time God does not just ask one person but God commissions his disciples to “Go” and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.
God was with Moses, Aaron, and the eleven and may we remember that God will be with us wherever God asks us to “Go.”
Pray
God, You continually call your people to “Go” and share with others, the grace they have received from You. Through Your grace may they find the strength and courage to do so. Amen
Go with God!
