Focus
Slow your breathing and become aware of the taking in and letting out of your breath. Focus on putting things aside so you will be open to what God is saying to you today.

1 Peter 4:7-11 New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)
The end of all things is near; therefore be serious and discipline yourselves for the sake of your prayers. Above all, maintain constant love for one another, for love covers a multitude of sins. Be hospitable to one another without complaining. Like good stewards of the manifold grace of God, serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received. Whoever speaks must do so as one speaking the very words of God; whoever serves must do so with the strength that God supplies, so that God may be glorified in all things through Jesus Christ. To him belong the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.
Reflect
I was walking the halls of seminary on September 11, 2001. Classes were in session. But my classmates and I were functioning in a sort of stunned quietness, trying to process what had happened. I turned to a friend and said, “I don’t know how to feel.” He responded, “Feel Love.” That is the one lesson I remember from seminary that day. “Love covers a multitude of sins.” This is a powerful and hopeful truth. It is the very truth that Jesus lived out for us and has called us to live in him. So let us hear the words of this hopeful scripture and go forth serving God and one another by the strength of God, by the way of love, for the glory of God.
Pray
Loving God,
We praise you for giving us life and mercy and hope for a new day by the power of Jesus who has brought us your amazing and gracious love in Word and deed, and in mind, body and Spirit. Help us to receive it so that we are filled to overflowing with your eternal, healing and life-giving love. Teach us to walk in your strength. Help us to abide in your love. In Jesus name, we pray,
Amen.
Amen
Go with God!
