Focus
Slow your breathing and become aware of the taking in and letting out of your breath. Focus on putting things aside so you will be open to what God is saying to you today.

Psalm 124 New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)
A Song of Ascents. Of David.
If it had not been the Lord who was on our side
—let Israel now say—
if it had not been the Lord who was on our side,
when our enemies attacked us,
then they would have swallowed us up alive,
when their anger was kindled against us;
then the flood would have swept us away,
the torrent would have gone over us;
then over us would have gone
the raging waters.
Blessed be the Lord,
who has not given us
as prey to their teeth.
We have escaped like a bird
from the snare of the fowlers;
the snare is broken,
and we have escaped.
Our help is in the name of the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.
Reflect
Some days I feel as if I’m constantly being bombarded by messages telling me that “I’m not good enough,” “pretty enough,” “skinny enough,” “smart enough.” That no matter what I do, I will never be “enough.” These messages come from many places, but the majority of them come from social media, society, and myself.
I start believing the “I’m not good enough” message when I’m at my worst physically and mentally. My “worst” manifests itself when I haven’t slept well for a few nights, when I haven’t been eating the way I know I should, and when I haven’t spent time with God in Word or prayer.
It is in these times when I’m at my worst, and even sometimes when I’m at my best, that I need to be reminded that God will never forsake me, and always deliver me. Psalm 124 is a great reminder of who our Deliverer is and where our help comes from – “Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth,” Psalm 124:8.
Pray
Dear Lord, it is only in you that I find my true worth. Thank you for drowning out the messages of the enemy, and help me to keep my focus on you. Through Christ Jesus. Amen.
Go with God!
