Psalm 100 New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)
A Psalm of thanksgiving.
Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth.
Worship the Lord with gladness;
come into his presence with singing.
Know that the Lord is God.
It is he that made us, and we are his;[a]
we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
and his courts with praise.
Give thanks to him, bless his name.
For the Lord is good;
his steadfast love endures forever,
and his faithfulness to all generations.
Reflect
I’ve done some research on the importance of gratitude in life. People who are grateful are happier. People who are grateful are more efficient. People who are grateful are more determined. In my own experience, people who are grateful are just better to be around.
In my studying, I also found out that people who express their gratitude receive the greatest impact of being grateful people. In other words, knowing we are blessed is good, but even better is expressing that in thankfulness. So when we acknowledge why we are grateful and we say thank you to those we are grateful to will help us become even more grateful. Remember the old hymn today and “count your many blessings, name them one by one.” Reach out to someone who you can say, “Thank you for…”
After reading this, take a moment and pray a prayer of thanksgiving or sing a hymn to God expressing your thankfulness and gratitude for God’s unending, incomparable love.
Pray
God you have been good to me and my family and for that, I will praise you with all of my being, and with all that I have. Amen
Go with God!
