Psalm 71:1-6 New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)
“In you, O Lord, I take refuge; let me never be put to shame. In your righteousness deliver me and rescue me; incline your ear to me and save me. Be to me a rock of refuge, a strong fortress, to save me, for you are my rock and my fortress. Rescue me, O my God, from the hand of the wicked, from the grasp of the unjust and cruel. For you, O Lord, are my hope, my trust, O Lord, from my youth. Upon you I have learned from my birth; it was you who took me from y mother’s womb. My praise is continually of you.”
Reflect
There are many times that we reach-out to others for comfort and safety and that is a normal human reaction. In today scriptures we see a real need to call upon the Lord for our strength and comfort. I am so grateful that God has been near when I experienced difficult and uncomfortable moments in my life. There are times when we feel weak and ashamed because we are frozen in fear of failure, the Lord is our strength and we must give him glory and praise.
The Lord is my comfort and strength even from the moment of conception. Praise God for He is the mighty creator, redeemer and sustainer.
Pray
Heavenly Father, you are my strength in times of weakness and my protector in times of distress and fear. Thank you for being with me from the moment of my conception to the moment that I return to you. Amen.
Go with God!
