O Lord, our Sovereign,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory above the heavens.

Out of the mouths of babes and infants
you have founded a bulwark because of your foes,
to silence the enemy and the avenger.

When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars that you have established;

what are human beings that you are mindful of them,
mortals that you care for them?

Yet you have made them a little lower than God,
and crowned them with glory and honor.

You have given them dominion over the works of your hands;
you have put all things under their feet,

all sheep and oxen,
and also the beasts of the field,

the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea,
whatever passes along the paths of the seas.

O Lord, our Sovereign,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!

Reflect

I am a nature lover. I am amazed at sunrises and sunsets, and if you talk to any of my friends, they will tell you that I drive them crazy with it. I am just simply blown away at the beauty of God’s handiwork!

In this Psalm, we are reminded of our Awesome God and how God desires us above the sheep, oxen, beasts of the field, birds of the air, fish of the sea along with all the other creatures and wonders of the skies that God created! Wait a minute….the Sovereign, Holy God thinks of us who make mistakes and go our own way at times in our lives? God loves us, cares for us and desires a relationship with us even though we aren’t perfect!

What we need to realize is that our Awesome God created us in love and with a purpose! Just like God created everything that our eyes see in nature in love and for a purpose, we also are created in love and with a purpose! If you think that you have blown it, you haven’t! You can never go too far that God cannot reach you and change you!

“O Sovereign God, we stand in awe of You and all of Your goodness! Please help us to remember that we are Yours and You are ours! Help us remember that You have created us in love and with a purpose! We need You, Lord! Thank you for being who You are and for loving us! We love You, Lord! In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
