Focus
Prepare yourself to discern what is and what is not of God today. Still yourself so you can hear how God is calling you.

Colossians 1:9-14 (NRSV)
For this reason, since the day we heard it, we have not ceased praying for you and asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of God’s will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you may lead lives worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, as you bear fruit in every good work and as you grow in the knowledge of God. May you be made strong with all the strength that comes from his glorious power, and may you be prepared to endure everything with patience, while joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has enabled you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the light. He has rescued us from the power of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
Reflect
Having the power of God within you is a serious and magical feeling. Some of the gifts God has given me are the ability to teach and lead others, something I discovered through an activity at CPYC, and have embraced ever since.
This summer I was invited back to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as a leader in their annual “Volunteen” Program. I get to help other teenagers, like myself, discover more about the hospital and how to interact with patients. It is a truly beautiful thing.
Being a leader is all about having strength and patience, and I am so glad I get to use the gifts God has given me to help others. We all have unique talents and abilities that make us an intricate part of God’s community. Take some time today to reflect on the gifts God has given you and seek ways to take advantage of them to glorify God. No matter what your gifts are, or how you choose to act upon them, share God’s grace and light wherever you go.
Pray
God, we open our hearts and minds to you for guidance. Reveal to us the gifts you have provided, and show us how to use them. Help us to have the strength and courage to follow our hearts and use our talents to glorify you in all that we do. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
Go with God.
