Focus
Slow your breathing and become aware of the taking in and letting out of your breath. Focus on putting things aside so you will be open to what God is saying to you today.

Romans 11:33-36 (NRSV)
O the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!
“For who has known the mind of the Lord?
Or who has been his counselor?”
“Or who has given a gift to him,
to receive a gift in return?”
For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever. Amen.
Reflect
The above passage is a doxology. It reminds us that despite what we think we know and understand about God, God is still a mystery. Paul tells us that all things are from God and come through God, but we are not meant to understand all of God’s ways.
As we seek to know God, the bigger the mystery of God becomes. Try to imagine going back to your childhood and having a bad dream. When you wake up from this dream, you call on your parents, grandparents, or whomever your caretaker was. They say, “Everything will be okay.” You’re not exactly sure how everything will be okay, but you trust them. God says that it won’t always be easy, but we must take comfort in God and in God’s word. Everything will be okay.
Pray
Loving God, thank you for your word. Allow us to take comfort in your unfathomable knowledge, wisdom, and power. Guide us and protect us. Amen.
Go with God.
