Focus
Slow your breathing and become aware of the taking in and letting out of your breath. Focus on putting things aside so you will be open to what God is saying to you today.
Read
Psalm 145:8-9, 14-21 (NRSV)
The LORD is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
The LORD is good to all,
and his compassion is over all that he has made.
…
The LORD upholds all who are falling,
and raises up all who are bowed down.
The eyes of all look to you,
and you give them their food in due season.
You open your hand,
satisfying the desire of every living thing.
The LORD is just in all his ways,
and kind in all his doings.
The LORD is near to all who call on him,
to all who call on him in truth.
He fulfills the desire of all who fear him;
he also hears their cry, and saves them.
The LORD watches over all who love him,
but all the wicked he will destroy.
My mouth will speak the praise of the LORD,
and all flesh will bless his holy name forever and ever.
Reflect
A large part of any relationship is communication. When disagreements or misunderstandings happen, as they inevitably will, the result may be arguments and flaring tempers. At such times, people can be hateful and fail to show love or compassion. But one of the great things about our relationship with God is that God’s love and compassion for us are never-ending.
God is always there for us. If you cry out to God, God will be there to comfort you. If you pray to God, God will be there to hear you. God is always watching out for you, guiding you, and lending a hand to help you through life. All you have to do is ask.
Pray
Dear Lord, thank you for always being there for me when I need you. Thank you for being slow to anger and for being quick to love. Help me to do the same with others and with you. In your precious name I pray. Amen.
Go with God.
