Pay attention to the tension in your body. Let go of it and any expectations to do anything other than God’s will today. Prepare yourself to hear God’s word.

1 Peter 2:1-3 (NRSV)
Rid yourselves, therefore, of all malice, and all guile, insincerity, envy, and all slander. Like newborn infants, long for the pure, spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow into salvation— if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good.
Reflect
Anyone who has been around babies knows the importance of milk. As the sole source of nutrition for a baby, milk provides nourishment for growth. When my son was born, we struggled with finding the right milk for him. We tried formula after formula, but nothing seemed to work. We finally found the perfect mix that his stomach would tolerate.
Equally important is the nourishment we receive from our heavenly parent. Just as milk is required for physical nourishment, God’s spiritual milk feeds our soul. Often though, we can’t seem to find that ideal formula for putting God in the center of our life. The struggle and search to place God as the center of our life takes time and energy. Equal to milk being the perfect and only food for babies, God is the perfect balm for our spiritual hunger.
Pray
Dear God, I pray that you help us find that perfect spiritual milk to feed our soul. Help us to look to you for nourishment and focus on our spiritual hunger as much as we do our physical hunger. Amen.
Go with God.
