Focus
Let yourself become open to God and the knowledge that comes from the Word. Ask God for peace at this time.

Psalm 133 (NRSV)
How very good and pleasant it is
when kindred live together in unity!
It is like the precious oil on the head,
running down upon the beard,
on the beard of Aaron,
running down over the collar of his robes.
It is like the dew of Hermon,
which falls on the mountains of Zion.
For there the LORD ordained his blessing,
life forevermore.
Reflect
I don’t get enough physical activity; I thoroughly enjoy my walking regimen, but I don’t often work out enough to get hot and sweaty. On the rare occasions when I do, stepping into the shower and feeling the hot water flow over me, from my head to my toes, is at the same time relaxing and exhilarating!
The psalmist paints that same picture for us, although the feeling comes not from physical activity, but from living in unity. When we are in sync with our coworkers, our spouse and/or other family members, and with our church family, that same relaxing, yet exhilarating feeling gives us the desire to keep up—and perhaps step up—our involvement with our church family. Working together, we are able to achieve so much more than if the same number of people work independently.
Pray
Holy God, as we strive to do good works, keep us focused on the needs of the church as a whole as well as the needs of one another. Let us feel the peace and contentment that comes from fellowship with others who love you. Amen.
Go with God.
