Cumberland Presbytery met March 18, 2023 at Garfield Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Retiring Moderator Elder Paul Forester gave the message on 1 Corinthians 12:21.  Rev. Chris Darland was elected Moderator and Elder David Watson was elected Vice-Moderator.  Denominational Representatives were Cindy Martin from the Resource Center, Rev. Rebecca Zahrte from the Women’s Ministry and Rev. Jeff McMichael from OUO.

Received Rev. Dr. Michael Bertsch from Nashville Presbytery and Rev. Rebecca Zahrte from Covenant Presbytery.  Dismissed Rev. Glenn Watts to Cornerstone Presbytery.  Presbytery granted a one-time offering to Candidate Sarah McCormack for a Mission trip to Brazil.  Honorably retired Rev. Bill Macy and Rev. Rodney Harris.

Passed a Standing Rule that presbytery will always meet at 9:30 AM Central Time regardless of meeting location.  Rev. Tim McGuire led Elder Communion Training.  Next Board Meetings will be August 5, 2023 at the Bowling Green Cumberland Presbyterian Church and Next Presbytery Meeting on September 9, 2023 at the Leitchfield First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
