On June 16, 2020, the Reverend Dr. Theodis Acklin announced on behalf of the General Assembly Executive Board of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America that elder Vanessa K. Midgett had been hired as denominational Administrative Director to replace Dr. Lynn Herring who recently retired.

Midgett’s resume, credentials, and commitment to service is extensive; having served at the session, presbytery, synod and General Assembly levels. She serves as an elder on the Madkins Chapel CPCA Session in Huntsville, Alabama. Moreover, she is the immediate past Stated Clerk of the Alabama Synod.
