“The Hendrix Scholarship Competition is a very exciting event here at Bethel, stated Tina Hodges, Director of Admissions. “This is a great opportunity for high school seniors to earn free tuition.”
Established in 1988, the Hendrix Scholarship Competition was the idea of late Nashville businessman Willard R. Hendrix, who dreamed of connecting qualified and dedicated faculty with outstanding and deserving students. As the grandson of former Bethel University President W.W. Hendrix, the younger Hendrix also wanted to pay tribute to his grandfather, an outstanding educator who reopened the school on a new McKenzie, Tennessee, campus after the Civil War. Worthy students have competed for and benefitted from the prestigious award ever since.
To be considered for the Hendrix Competition, students must be a high school senior, have a minimum 3.25 GPA and a minimum of 23/1130 ACT/SAT score.
High school seniors can apply at bethelu.edu/news/hendrix. Official high school transcript and ACT/SAT scores will need to be submitted. The deadline for application is February 19, 2021
