Victory in the Abu Garcia College Fishing Open, sponsored by Yeti, eluded Bethel University anglers until February 28, 2022, when the team of Hunter Fillmore and Dylan Fogarty won the event with more than a fourteen pound margin and a total weight of over 45 pounds. The team gained a berth in the 2023 National Championship. Bethel University in McKenzie, Tennessee, has one of the most prestigious competitive fishing programs in the United States. The school is affiliated with the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
