On October 28, 2021, the Bartow Cumberland Presbyterian Church (Tennessee-Georgia Presbytery) in Rydal, Georgia, was damaged by fire. The Reverend Mark Rackley, pastor, was on the premises and detected the smoke.

Bartow County Fire & Emergency Services responded to a structure fire at Bartow Cumberland Presbyterian Church around 10:40 AM. No injuries were reported. The fire was primarily contained to the attic area. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. It may have started in a heating unit.
