Elbert Junior Boatright, 91, of Welti, Alabama, died June 10, 2023. He was a member of the Welti Cumberland Presbyterian Church (Hope Presbytery) where he served as an Elder.
Matthew H. Gore is a British journalist, historian, popular culturist, archivist, and educator residing in Memphis, Tennessee. He is the immediate past-president of the Society of Tennessee Archivists and is best known for his book The History of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Kentucky to 1988 (2000). He has also published on a variety of topics as diverse as The Origin of Marvelman (a British superhero of the 1950s and 1960s), the relative scarcity of East German philatelics, and the biography of British pulp artist, Denis McLoughlin. He is employed by the Ministry Council of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church at the Cumberland Presbyterian Center in Memphis, Tennessee, as editor of the Cumberland Presbyterian Magazine and as publications manager. He has been associated with both Western Kentucky University, which honored him with their James H. Poteet Award, and the University of Kentucky. He also serves as editor for all Boardman Books (Memphis, Tennessee) publications.

Gordon Lee Kellett, 86, of Rome, Georgia, and a former resident of Rockmart, Georgia, died June 3, 2023. He was a deacon in the United Methodist Church, he loved gospel quartet music, and he was exceedingly proud of his daughter, the Reverend Lee Hollingshed, a Cumberland Presbyterian minister of Tennessee-Georgia Presbytery.

Verna Allaby MacKenzie, 98, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, died May 23, 2023. Verna served as choir director and organist for Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church (Cumberland Presbytery) in Kentucky from 1980 to 1997 while also giving voice, piano, and organ lessons.

Brenda Joyce Davis LeCroix, 79, of Anderson, Alabama, died May 29, 2023. She was a member of Rogersville First Cumberland Presbyterian Church (Hope Presbytery). Among her three siblings was the Reverend Dr. Susan Parker of Hope Presbytery.
Sara Glenn Jones Bradley, 99, of Union City, Tennessee, died May 29, 2023. She was a member of Union City Cumberland Presbyterian Church (Cornerstone Presbytery) where she attended Snider Sunday school class, served as an elder, and was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Women’s Ministry.
Skip Kiepe, 88, of Memphis, Tennessee, died May 28, 2023. He was one of the oldest members of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Germantown (Presbytery for the Mid-South). Skip was a US Navy veteran having served on the repair vessel USS Briareus and the aircraft carrier USS Lake Champlain.
