Reflect
We are Christians, yet we are all too human. Sometimes disagreements are going to arise in the church. It is okay to disagree and discuss things. It is not okay, as our scripture says today, to fall into “quarreling and jealousy.” Some people may think they do more than others in working for the church. Never assume this. Some people who are the quietest members of church are doing things others may know about. These people are visiting the sick, cooking for shut-ins, sending cards etc. Yet you never hear them mention what they are doing. I have known a number of church members like this. The loudest person does not necessarily do the most. People have different abilities and talents. No one is more important than another. We are all co-workers for God. Never underestimate other people or feel that you are doing more for the kingdom of God. There is simply no way of knowing that. There is a reason we are cautioned not to judge. God knows what people are dong and what talents God has given them. We cannot know everything. It is only through the nurture and wisdom of God that we can do anything. The next time you think someone does not contribute, think again.
Pray
Dear God, please help me to overcome my tendency to judge others. Please help to be humble. Help me to appreciate the efforts of other Christians, for we are all your children. Amen.
Go with God.
