John 1:17-18 reads, 17 The law indeed was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18 No one has ever seen God. It is the only Son, himself God, who is close to the Father’s heart, who has made him known.
The Bible is one way in which God is revealed to humanity. It is the witness of faithful believers since the days of Abraham. We see the nature of God through the stories and pages of the Bible. Ultimately, however, the greatest revelation is Jesus Christ, the son of God. The life of Christ fully reveals God to us.
When we become Christians we become part of the body of Christ. We are reflections of Jesus Christ to everyone we meet. Someone once said, “Be careful how you live. You may be the only Bible some person ever reads.” There are plenty of Phillips in this world that are seeking a true understanding of God. Unfortunately, many find idols that are cheap substitutes for the real, true, and living God.
When someone needs to know God, they should be able to see God in us. We study the Bible, we are led by the Holy Spirit, and we commit to the family of God. In so doing, we are formed and shaped into people that reflect God to the world.
Pray
God, help me to be the type of Christian that others can see Your love and grace through. Amen
