A Psalm.
1 O sing to the Lord a new song,
for he has done marvelous things.
His right hand and his holy arm
have gotten him victory.
2 The Lord has made known his victory;
he has revealed his vindication in the sight of the nations.
3 He has remembered his steadfast love and faithfulness
to the house of Israel.
All the ends of the earth have seen
the victory of our God.
4 Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth;
break forth into joyous song and sing praises.
5 Sing praises to the Lord with the lyre,
with the lyre and the sound of melody.
6 With trumpets and the sound of the horn
make a joyful noise before the King, the Lord.
7 Let the sea roar, and all that fills it;
the world and those who live in it.
8 Let the floods clap their hands;
let the hills sing together for joy
9 at the presence of the Lord, for he is coming
to judge the earth.
He will judge the world with righteousness,
and the peoples with equity.
Reflect
Sing to the Lord! This Psalm is joyful, exuberant, elated….I could go on and on. The Lord has made His salvation known. His salvation is Jesus Christ. Who came born of a virgin to live as we live. To see how our daily lives are impacted by the world around us. To bear our burdens, our sins, our shame on the cross of Calvary. Raised on the 3rd day, conquering hell and death so that we might live through Him. I don’t know about you but that is most certainly something to get excited about!
This Psalm reminds me today to take time to reflect upon the goodness of God. If you are anything like me, life happens. You know, bills have to be paid, groceries need to be shopped for, the car needs an oil change. I feel pressured and cramped all the time. Always someone or something vying for my time. It’s easy for me to get distracted.
Today is a great day to remember how God made His salvation known. To remind ourselves that each day we are to be living for God. This means when we grocery shop and get the oil changed too. We display our character and what God has done for us through our interactions, attitude, and speech to others.
So, reflect today on the goodness of God and then share it with someone!
Pray
Gracious and loving God, we believe that you came, that you sacrificed, that you have kept every promise you ever made, and someday you will come back just as you said you would. Help us today to praise you all day long. To make time to remember and rejoice in what you do for us every day. You are a good God. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Go with God!
