Discipleship Ministry Team Part-Time Shipping Clerk Announcement and Instructions
The Discipleship Ministry Team of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church is currently accepting online applications for the position of Part-time Shipping Clerk. The part-time position is housed in the denominational headquarters (Center) in Memphis (Cordova), Tennessee. Ideally, the Part-time Shipping Clerk will be active within a local congregation of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church or Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America but may be an active member of another reformed Protestant denomination.
In addition to the job description, the following competencies are important:
- Must be able to lift and move a minimum of 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to use a computer and be proficient in Financial Edge/able to learn
- Personable and friendly to interact with center staff, visitors, and customers
- Knowledgeable about Cumberland Presbyterian Resources
- Strong knowledge of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church
- Willingness to travel on occasion
- Flexibility
- Competent in handling financial transactions, including credit cards
- Strong organizational skills
- Customer service oriented

Current Denominational Center staff members and elected Ministry Council members may not provide letters of recommendation.
EXTENDED DEADLINE: Completed online applications and three signed letters of recommendation must be received via applications@cumberland.org no later than 5 PM (Central Standard/Daylight Savings Time) Tuesday, July 5, 2022.
If an individual submits an incomplete application prior to the deadline, s/he will be sent one email (receipt acknowledgement requested) to inform them of missing information, noting that the process must be completed by the deadline for the application to be considered. Applications that are incomplete after the deadline will not be considered.
Initial phone interviews will be conducted with applicants the Interview Panel considers to be qualified candidates. Following these interviews, individuals whom the panel desires to interview will be interviewed via Zoom. Ideally, the successful candidate will begin work as soon as the interview process is complete, following a satisfactory completion of a background check.
