Margie Green Teacher of the Year
Margie Green, an active member of the Petersburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church (Columbia Presbytery), was selected as the 2020-2021 elementary teacher of year by the Lincoln County Tennessee School Systems February 18, 2021.
Margie teaches Fourth Grade English Language Arts at Unity School. While beginning her teaching career in Warren County where she taught for nine years, Margie moved home in 2005 and has taught various grades at Unity. She also served as a Teacher Leader mentoring new teachers for the last seven years.
Margie is a 1988 graduate of Lincoln County High School. She received a bachelor’s degree from Bethel College (now Bethel University) in McKenzie, Tennessee, in 1992 and obtained a master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, in 2014.
Mrs. Green resides in Petersburg, Tennessee, with her husband of 29 years, the Reverend Troy Green, pastor of Petersburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church. They have a daughter, McKenzie, who is an App Designer and lives in Franklin and a son, Harrison, who is a student at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
