Read
Psalm 62:5-12; Jeremiah 20:14-18
Reflect
In yesterday’s eVotion, we spoke about the various trials of Jeremiah and how through all of the frustration, God kept giving him a fire in his bones to speak His Word. Today, our readings seem to contrast one another. We might actually think that these text don’t seem to go together at all. However, if we think of Psalm 62 as an answer for a Jeremiah 20 attitude, then we have a different story.
When we find ourselves burdened by the troubles and cares of this life, maybe even regretting the fact that we were born, we should be encouraged to seek the Lord for rest and comfort. Our struggles and conflicts are real and we shouldn’t dismiss them, but we should take comfort because Jesus has been tested like we are and He is able to sympathize with us. (Hebrews 4:15). Because this is true we can have the confidence to “trust in Him at all times” and “pour out our hearts before Him.” (Psalm 62:8)
Pray
Holy God, this morning let us find rest and comfort in Your presence as we face the troubles and cares that may come our way today. In Christ’s blessed and holy name, we pray, Amen.
Go with God!
