Focus
Slow your breathing and become aware of the taking in and letting out of your breath. Focus on putting things aside so you will be open to what God is saying to you today.

3 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
4 I give thanks to my God always for you because of the grace of God that has been given you in Christ Jesus, 5 for in every way you have been enriched in him, in speech and knowledge of every kind— 6 just as the testimony of Christ has been strengthened among you— 7 so that you are not lacking in any spiritual gift as you wait for the revealing of our Lord Jesus Christ. 8 He will also strengthen you to the end, so that you may be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 God is faithful; by him you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Reflect
The message of Paul to the church at Corinth reminds me of our discussions over the past few months about how to go about having church in this Covid-19 environment. Most people have strong opinions about how to deal with the pandemic and resume worship services. And the opinions are sometimes wide-ranging and very different. Many of us have found ourselves divided in “camps” of full throttle to a new reality or try to go back to the way we used to do things.
Unfortunately, sometimes this kind of division has lead, as it did in Paul’s time, to a breakdown of relationships within the congregations.
Paul asks a very important question, “Is Christ divided?” We know the answer to this question. No. Christ was not divided and our division is not pleasing to him. Our division is more pleasing to the devil. It fractures our bonds and reduces the effectiveness of the church in the world. We are one body, with many parts and many different opinions, but one body, one Christ, one church.
Pray
Dear God, please help us not to make majors out of minors. Please help us to focus on the purpose and calling of us as your church exhibiting love to all even when we disagree. In the name of Christ we pray, Amen.
Go with God!
