Patricia Adeen Haws Parsons, 86, known to most as Pat, died November 13, 2020. She was the wife of Houston, Texas, First Cumberland Presbyterian Church’s pastor emeritus, the Reverend Hugh Leslie Parsons. She is survived by her three daughters including Houston CPC member and elder Lezlie Beth Parsons Daniel.

Pat was born in Elida, New Mexico, to Guy Aubrey Haws and Gladys Young Haws August 26, 1934. She married Hugh Parsons December 29, 1956, while he was in the Cumberland Presbyterian Theological Seminary in McKenzie, Tennessee. Their ministry in the Cumberland Presbyterian Church saw them in Madison, Hopewell, East Texas, South Texas, and Trinity Presbyteries.

Pat and Hugh were in the Houston, Texas, area the longest where they served River Oaks Cumberland Presbyterian Church and then Houston First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Pat was active in Christian education and frequently attended denominational events. She was active in the Christian Education Consultant Program. In the Houston area, Pat served on the organizing committee for a major pan-Presbyterian Christian education conference. She also served on the Cumberland Presbyterian denominational nominating committee.
