The Cumberland Presbyterian Magazine has been designated the “publication of record” for the Cumberland Presbyterian Church by the General Assembly of that body.
The “publication of record” refers to a publicly available periodical which has been authorized by a judicatory to publish public or legal notices. The Cumberland Presbyterian has been established as the “publication of record” by official action of the Assembly and publication of notices within the Cumberland Presbyterian, whether by the Assembly, other judicatories, or by private parties, is considered sufficient to comply with legal requirements for public notice.
Middle judicatories are obligated by the Assembly to provide synopses of their actions for publication in the Cumberland Presbyterian. Publication of the minutes of a judicatory does not fulfill this obligation.
