Psalm 100 New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)
A Psalm of thanksgiving.
Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth.
Worship the Lord with gladness;
come into his presence with singing.
Know that the Lord is God.
It is he that made us, and we are his;
we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
and his courts with praise.
Give thanks to him, bless his name.
For the Lord is good;
his steadfast love endures forever,
and his faithfulness to all generations.
Reflect
The Psalmist joyfully acknowledged from whom his daily needs were met. He did not hesitate to sing praises and thanksgiving to God whom he trusts. To have glory is to be important to oneself or others, show one’s significance in the world, and for God to visibly manifest himself to humans. We also need to recognize from whom our daily needs are met. We should rise up in the morning with thanksgiving in our hearts and on our lips. Thankful that God granted us another day for Him to have the opportunity to reveal Himself to us and to others through us. By His grace, blessings and favor, we have a privileged position in His kingdom.
Many things can be considered sacrifices to God, but the most appropriate is the sacrifice of thanksgiving and praise which is a warm expression of adoration. Sacrifice because we do not take credit for anything in our life, giving the glory only to God. Throughout the scriptures, God reveals his faithfulness to his people. God is jealous of His Glory and His name, We should also be jealous to give him the glory and praise for his faithfulness, grace, mercy, and forgiveness each and every day.
Pray
Most Holy and gracious God, I thank you for everything you have brought in my life and for continuing to bless me even in my future. For the powerful lessons you have taught me through trials and tribulations, and for the lessons of release and peace relying only on you. Thank you for who you are, for that alone, you are to be praised. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
Go with God!
