Focus
Prepare yourself to discern what is and what is not of God today. Still yourself so you can hear how God is calling you.

Psalm 75 (NRSV)
We give thanks to you, O God;
we give thanks; your name is near.
People tell of your wondrous deeds.
At the set time that I appoint
I will judge with equity.
When the earth totters, with all its inhabitants,
it is I who keep its pillars steady. Selah
I say to the boastful, “Do not boast,”
and to the wicked, “Do not lift up your horn;
do not lift up your horn on high,
or speak with insolent neck.”
For not from the east or from the west
and not from the wilderness comes lifting up;
but it is God who executes judgment,
putting down one and lifting up another.
For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup
with foaming wine, well mixed;
he will pour a draught from it,
and all the wicked of the earth
shall drain it down to the dregs.
But I will rejoice forever;
I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.
All the horns of the wicked I will cut off,
but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.
Reflect
While driving home one night, I was stopped at a traffic light. A large red truck in the next lane pulled up beside my car and the men in the truck motioned for me to roll down my window. When I did, the driver leaned over to exclaim with over enthusiasm about how great God is. They continued to talk to me about God until the light changed. While this may seem like a great way to spread the word of God to others, the men were slightly scary and off-putting to me.
We are told to praise God, but not to boast about our faith and trust in God. In my opinion, these men were over the top in spreading the word of God. While I love talking about my savior, I do not want to come across as boasting or scary when approaching others.
Pray
O God, I praise your name to the heavens. Please help me to tell others about you in ways to which they will be receptive. Thank you. Amen.
Go with God.
